EDUCATION:

Rice University, Spring 2010 – May 2013. BA in Mathematics. Significant graduate-level coursework in both computer science and mathematics.

Example group university projects: multiplayer game of RISK on Google Maps-style globe; chat server and client; interpreter for custom scripting language written in pure C.

Independent University of Moscow, Fall 2010. Participant in Math in Moscow. Studied advanced mathematics in a highly specialized program in Moscow. In total eight students were accepted internationally.

RESEARCH:

“Hodge-de Rham Theory on Fractal Graphs and Fractals” with Robert Strichartz, Skye Aaron, and Hui Yu, to appear in Communications in Pure and Applied Analysis.

MASS Fest Conference, Pennsylvania State University, 11-12 August 2012. Presentation: “Periodic billiard orbits in convex polytopes” with Ray Navarrete, Andre Kuney, and Nell Kroeger.

Rice University Undergraduate Research Symposium, 16 April 2010. Poster presentation: “Calculating linking numbers in two-fold branched covers of S3” with Drew Moore.

AWARDS AND HONORS:

VIGRE Grant at Rice University for Summer Research, Summer 2012.

NSF Grant for the Cornell University Mathematics REU, Summer 2011. Helped develop a new theory of de Rham cohomology on fractals.

NSF Grant for the Pennsylvania State University Mathematics REU, Summer 2010. Led the development and implementation in C of novel computer algorithms to determine the existence of omnihedral orbits in convex polytopes.

Missouri State University Pummill Math Relays. First place, computer programming event, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008. Each year the competition consisted of developing artificial intelligence in Java for virtual robots over a period of several months.

Missouri Bright Flight Scholar (99th percentile ACT score).

University of Missouri Excellence Award.

University of Missouri Engineering Achievement Award.

EMPLOYMENT:

Department of Mathematics, Rice University, Fall 2011 – Spring 2012. Ran large help sessions for Frank Jones’s Honors Multivariable Calculus sequence as a TA.

Idea Works, Inc. November 2008 – December 2009. As an intern, I worked on SAGrader, an online automated essay grading service powered by unique artificial intelligence strategies.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING: Proficient in C, C++, Java, C#, Scheme, Haskell.
